IDF Prize of Excellence Award 2023 conferred on Dr Meenesh Shah, Chairman & MD, NDDB
20 October 2023, Anand: Dr Meenesh Shah, Chairman & MD, National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) has been honoured with the IDF Prize of Excellence Award 2023 at the IDF World Dairy Summit in Chicago, USA on October 18, 2023. This award acknowledges his exceptional contributionto the Work Programme of International Dairy Federation (IDF). The prestigious award is based on five key concepts constituting SWIFT (Speed, Worldwide Visibility, Impact, Focus, Transparency), which serve as a driver for development.
Mr Piercristiano Brazzale, President, International Dairy Federation (IDF) presented the award to Dr Meenesh Shah in presence of Ms Alka Upadhayaya, Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying (AHD), Govt of India & President, Indian National Committee of International Dairy Federation (INC-IDF) and Ms Caroline Emond, Director General, IDF.
On receiving the prestigious award, Dr Shah said, “It is my privilege to represent the world’s largest milk producing nation. This is a proud moment and a befitting tribute to the dairy farmers of India. The world now truly recognises our contributions and looks up to us to lead the dairy sector forward.”
He further stated that India’s impressive growth and self-sufficiency in dairy sector have been made possible by the concerted efforts of milk producers, the Government of India, NDDB and many other stakeholders. India will continue contributing to the global dairy sector in achieving key Sustainable Development Goals such as ending poverty, hunger and protecting the environment.
Ms Upadhayaya congratulated Dr Shah for this remarkable achievement in presenting Indian dairy sector’s perspective to the World.
Dr Shah has facilitated engagement of the Indian Dairy sector with the world. He also spearheaded the successful organisation of IDF World Dairy Summit 2022 in India last year. Notably, this summit achieved the remarkable distinction of being the first World Dairy Summit to be declared carbon neutral.
Dr Shah is the Member Secretary of Indian National Committee of International Dairy Federation (INC-IDF) and also a Member of the Standing Committee on Dairy Policies and Economics of IDF.
