Uterine prolapse

 

More common in buffalo than in cattle. May have genetic predisposition and may occur pre or postpartum.

 

Common symptoms:

The whole or part of uterus comes out.

Prone animals may be kept with the hind quarter at a slight elevation.

Before purchase of animals, check the vulval area for any stitch marks.
